Eagle Jet’s JAA Cadet Pilot Programs (CPP) are the most advanced Cadet Pilot Programs offered to individuals in the aviation industry worldwide. They are available to pilots with no or little flight experience. Upon completion of their Cadet Pilot Program, the cadets are truly competitive to be hired by airlines worldwide, which is usually not the case of pilots only holding a JAA Frozen ATPL or type rating with no airline experience. Our CPP also offers the following advantages:
Flexibility:
Cadets are not required to complete the entire CPP and can leave the program at their convenience (for instance, in case of hiring) and also pause their program for a duration of their choice between each phase of the CPP. Cadets can also enroll for the B737 or A320 CPP and switch to the other aircraft CPP prior to starting the MCC based on their latest preference. Cadets with some flight experience but not holding a JAA Frozen ATPL can enter the CPP at various stages with pricing taking into consideration their flight experience. Pilots who only require a JAA Frozen ATPL course are also invited to join the CPP therefore benefiting from the same curriculum and costs for the Frozen ATPL course as cadets completing the entire CPP. Cadets have the choice between several Eagle Jet approved training facilities for phase I therefore giving cadets the option to choose the size of the school they will attend, the type of aircraft and the location. Except for the IR conversion course which is required to take place in Europe, all training facilities are located in Florida (FAA certified flight schools for Phase I and JAA certified FTO for Phases II and III)so pilots can benefit from excellent weather conditions year round giving them better control over the duration of their Frozen ATPL course and advanced exposure to general and aeronautical English which is a definite asset for the rest of the airline pilot career of the cadet.
Lower Cost:
The total cost of the JAA B737 NG CPP starts at €80,600 Euros / £67,300 Pounds (the JAA A320 CPP is €102,300 Euros / £85,400 Pounds) which is similar or lower to the cost of only an ab initio JAA Frozen ATPL course with no MCC, type rating and first officer experience completed entirely in Europe. The total cost of the JAA Frozen ATPL course by itself starts at €39,100 Euros / £32,700 Pounds which makes it the lowest or one of the lowest available in the industry. Pilots pay each phase of the program independently as they move from one phase to the other (with payment broken down in smaller payments for some of the phases).
Employment Ready:
Cadets complete the CPP being highly competitive on the employment market worldwide thanks to the high level of training received as well as the unique airline first officer experience they have gained which includes 500 hours of experience as a first officer on type which is considered in the aviation industry as the “magic” number of hours on type to secure employment (even though pilots with 300 hours on type are also often hired). Cadets complete the program with at least 715 hours of flight (including 500 hours B737 or A320) plus at least 40 hours of B737 or A320 simulator time.
Airline Experience:
Since 1996, Eagle Jet has been the world reference for B737 and A320 first officer line training. Thousands of pilots have completed our heavy jet programs in the past 12 years and secured employment on type with various airlines thanks to this unique airline experience that no training, license or certificate can replace. Airlines worldwide require pilots to have a significant amount of hours on type to secure employment as airlines expect new hires to be fully operational at the time of hiring. Eagle Jet’s cadet pilots benefit from this expertise and can start their initial flight school training with the confidence they will be truly competitive to secure employment on Boeing 737 or Airbus 320 aircraft upon completion of their Cadet Pilot Program.
SCREENING
Psychotechnical Written test, Personality Written test, Spatial Relations Written test, English Written test (for non native English pilots) and JAA First Class Medical examination. The screening is designed to assess the applicants’ potential and to issue a prognostic regarding his or her potential to not only satisfactorily complete the JAA Frozen ATPL course but also satisfactorily complete the B737 or A320 type rating course as well as transition to B737 or A320 line training during actual airline operations. Psychotechnical, Personality, Spatial Relations and English Written tests are emailed or faxed to pilot who needs to fill in answer sheets and email or fax them back to Eagle Jet within a specified amount of hours from their receipt. Upon satisfactory completion of Psychotechnical, Personality, Spatial Relations and English tests, pilots are then invited to take the JAA First Class Medical examination with the JAA certified medical center of their choice.
PHASE I
FAA Private Pilot License (PVT) and FAA Instrument Rating (IR) with 180 hours single engine total flight time including at least 100 hours of solo flight time.
Depending on their preference (cost, type of aircraft, location, school size, facilities, etc), pilots select one of the Eagle Jet approved flight schools which are part of the Eagle Jet CPP to complete the FAA Private Pilot License (PVT) and FAA Instrument Rating (IR) with 180 hours single engine total flight time including at least 100 hours of solo flight time. The approximate duration is 4 months. Pilots will meet specific flight time requirements of the JAA CPL and IR while attending phase I.
Each flight school is located in Florida with excellent weather all year round therefore giving pilots better control over the duration of this phase as well as lower cost training. Pilots can choose the aircraft of their choice between C152, C172, C172SP, C172SP-G1000, PA-28 and PA-28R. Pilots with previous flight experience will receive a quote for phase I taking into consideration their current flight experience.
PHASE II
JAA WRITTEN ATPL
Depending on their preference, pilots select one of the following 3 options to complete the JAA Written ATPL:
OPTION 1.
Attend a full time JAA ATPL Ground School in Florida to obtain the 14 subjects for the JAA Written ATPL and lasting about 27 weeks (21 weeks teaching, 3 weeks personal study and 3 weeks exams). Examination for each JAA subject takes place in Florida and is administered by the British CAA. Total cost of the CPP JAA Frozen ATPL includes this option ($5,990 USD including VAT / taxes).
OR
OPTION 2.
Complete the JAA Written ATPL at their own pace through JAA ATPL long distance learning with a training provider approved by the British CAA and selected by the pilot. Pilots have the option to complete the JAA Written ATPL from their own home after completion of Phase I or while attending Phase I once the Private Pilot License has been obtained. In both cases, pilots attend a short review course in the UK right before taking an ATPL subject written test. In this case, pilots subtract $5,990 USD from the total cost of the CPP JAA Frozen ATPL and add the cost of the JAA ATPL long distance learning with a training provider approved by the British CAA they have selected.
OR
OPTION 3.
Attend a full time JAA ATPL Ground School or complete the JAA Written ATPL at their own pace through JAA ATPL long distance learning with a training provider from any JAA country other than England and selected by the pilot. As it is a JAA requirement for pilots to obtain the JAA ME CPL with the same certified aviation authorities with whom the written ATPL has been obtained, pilots are therefore required to complete Phase III with an FTO of their choice and based in the country where the written ATPL has been obtained. In this case, pilots subtract $5,990 USD from the total cost of the CPP JAA Frozen ATPL and add the cost of the JAA full time ATPL Ground School or JAA ATPL long distance learning with the training provider they have selected which is NOT a British CAA training provider.
14 Subjects of the JAA Written ATPL:
- Aircraft Performance
- Mass and Balance
- Flight Planning
- Radio Navigation
- Human Performance
- Operational Procedures
- Aircraft Knowledge
|
- Air Law
- Instrumentation
- Principles of Flight
- Meteorology
- VFR Communications
- IFR Communications

|
PHASE III
JAA ME CPL (Multi Engine Commercial Pilot License) Course
The approximate duration is 3 to 4 weeks and includes about 30 hours of flight on multi engine Piper Seminole or Beechcraft Duchess and single engine Piper Cadet aircraft for training and check ride. The JAA British CAA certified / Eagle Jet approved flight school is located in Florida with excellent weather all year round therefore giving pilots better control over the duration of this phase as well as lower cost training.
Pilots who have selected option 3 for Phase II have to complete the JAA ME CPL modular course with an FTO based in the same country as the JAA country where aviation authorities have issued their JAA written ATPL. In this case, pilots subtract $9,355 USD from the total cost of the CPP JAA Frozen ATPL and add the cost of the JAA ME CPL modular course with their selected NON British CAA FTO.
PHASE IV
JAA IR (Instrument Rating) Conversion
Depending on their preference (cost, type of aircraft, location, school size, facilities, etc), pilots select one of the Eagle Jet approved European based flight schools which are part of the Eagle Jet CPP to complete the JAA IR Conversion Course. Approximate duration is 1 month and includes at least 15 hours of flight on single and multi engine aircraft. Each flight school is located in southern Europe with excellent weather all year round therefore giving pilots better control over the duration of this phase as well as lower cost training.
Regardless of the country of issuance of their JAA written ATPL and JAA ME CPL, the JAA authorize pilots to obtain the JAA IR in the JAA country of pilot’s choice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If preferred, pilots can transfer their JAA Frozen ATP License issued by the British CAA to a JAA Frozen ATP License issued by the aviation authorities of the JAA country of their choice.
