Eagle Jet’s JAA Cadet Pilot Programs (CPP) are the most advanced Cadet Pilot Programs offered to individuals in the aviation industry worldwide. They are available to pilots with no or little flight experience. Upon completion of their Cadet Pilot Program, the cadets are truly competitive to be hired by airlines worldwide, which is usually not the case of pilots only holding a JAA Frozen ATPL or type rating with no airline experience. Our CPP also offers the following advantages:
Flexibility:
- Cadets are not required to complete the entire CPP and can leave the program at their convenience (for instance, in case of hiring) and also pause their program for a duration of their choice between each phase of the CPP.
- Cadets do not need to select between the Airbus 320 or the Boeing 737 until they have obtained the JAA Frozen ATPL.
- Cadets with some flight experience but not holding a JAA Frozen ATPL can enter the CPP at various stages with pricing taking into consideration their flight experience.
- Cadets who only require a JAA Frozen ATPL course with no Airbus 320 / Boeing 737 JAA qualification and experience can join the CPP therefore benefiting from the same curriculum and costs for the Frozen ATPL course as cadets completing the entire CPP.
- Cadets have the choice between several Eagle Jet approved training facilities for phase I therefore giving cadets the option to choose the size of the school they will attend, the type of aircraft and the location.
- Except for the IR conversion course which is required to take place in Europe, all training facilities are located in Florida (FAA Part 141 certified flight schools for Phase I and JAA certified FTO for Phases II and III) so cadets can benefit from excellent weather conditions year round giving them better control over the duration of their Frozen ATPL course and advanced exposure to general and aeronautical English which is a definite asset for the rest of the airline pilot career of the cadet
Lower Cost:
- The total cost of the JAA Frozen ATPL course is €36,300 Euros / £32,600 Pounds (starting price depending on CPP training center and aircraft selected by cadet) which makes it the lowest or one of the lowest available in the industry.
- Cadets pay each phase of the program independently as they move from one phase to the other (with payment broken down in smaller payments for some of the phases).
- The total cost of the JAA B737 NG CPP is €73,900 Euros / £66,300 Pounds (starting price depending on CPP training center and aircraft selected by student for JAA Frozen ATPL).
- The total cost of the JAA A320 CPP is €95,900 Euros / £86,100 Pounds (starting price depending on CPP training center and aircraft selected by student for JAA Frozen ATPL)
- The costs of the JAA B737 and A320 Cadet Pilot Programs are similar or lower to the cost of only an ab initio JAA Frozen ATPL course completed entirely in Europe with no MCC, type rating and first officer experience.
Employment Ready:
- Cadets complete the CPP being highly competitive on the employment market worldwide thanks to the high level of training received as well as the unique airline first officer experience they have gained which includes 500 hours of experience as an Airbus 320 or Boeing 737 first officer which is considered in the aviation industry as the “magic” number of hours on type to secure employment (even though pilots with 300 hours on type are also often hired).
- Cadets complete the program with at least 715 hours of flight (including 500 hours B737 or A320) plus at least 40 hours of B737 or A320 simulator time.
Airline Experience:
- Since 1996, Eagle Jet has been the world reference for B737 and A320 first officer line training. Thousands of pilots have completed our heavy jet programs in the past 13 years and secured employment on type with various airlines thanks to this unique airline experience that no training, license or certificate can replace.
- Airlines worldwide require pilots to have a significant amount of hours on type to secure employment as airlines expect new hires to be fully operational at the time of hiring. Eagle Jet’s cadet pilots benefit from this expertise and can start their initial flight school training with the confidence they will be truly competitive to secure employment on Boeing 737 or Airbus 320 aircraft upon completion of their Cadet Pilot Program.
PHASE I
FAA Private Pilot License (PVT) and FAA Instrument Rating (IR) with 180 hours single engine total flight time including at least 100 hours of solo flight time.
- Depending on their preference (cost, type of aircraft, location, school size, facilities, etc), cadets select one of the Eagle Jet approved flight schools which are part of the Eagle Jet CPP to complete the FAA Private Pilot License (PVT) and FAA Instrument Rating (IR) with 180 hours single engine total flight time including at least 100 hours of solo flight time. The approximate duration is 4 months. Pilots will meet specific flight time requirements of the JAA CPL and IR (cross country time, PIC/P1 time, night time, etc) while attending phase I.
- Each flight school is located in Florida with excellent weather all year round therefore giving cadets better control over the duration of this phase as well as lower cost training. Cadets can choose the aircraft of their choice between C152, C172, C172SP, C172SP-G1000, PA-28 and PA-28R. Cadets with previous flight experience will receive a quote for phase I taking into consideration their current flight experience.

PHASE II
JAA Written ATPL
Depending on their preference, cadets select one of the following 2 options to complete the JAA Written ATPL:
OPTION 1.
Attend a full time JAA ATPL Ground School in Florida to obtain the 14 subjects for the JAA Written ATPL and lasting about 27 weeks (21 weeks teaching, 3 weeks personal study and 3 weeks exams). Examination for each JAA subject takes place in Florida and is administered by the British CAA. Total cost of the CPP JAA Frozen ATPL includes this option ($5,990 USD including VAT / taxes).
OR
OPTION 2.
Attend a full time JAA ATPL Ground School or complete the JAA Written ATPL at their own pace through JAA ATPL long distance learning with a training provider from any JAA country selected by the cadet. In this case, cadets subtract $5,990 USD from the total cost of the CPP JAA Frozen ATPL and add the cost of the JAA full time ATPL Ground School or JAA ATPL long distance learning with the training provider they have selected. Cadets who select long distance learning have the option to study for the Written ATPL subjects while attending Phase I of the CPP.
14 Subjects of the JAA Written ATPL:
PHASE IV
JAA IR (Instrument Rating) Conversion
- Depending on their preference (training center and aircraft), cadets select one of the Eagle Jet approved European based flight schools which are part of the Eagle Jet CPP to complete the JAA IR Conversion Course.
- Approximate duration is 1 month and includes at least 15 hours of flight on single and multi engine aircraft.
- Each flight school is located in southern Europe with excellent weather all year round therefore giving cadets better control over the duration of this phase as well as lower cost training.
- Regardless of the country of issuance of cadet’s JAA written ATPL and JAA ME CPL, the JAA authorize cadets to obtain the JAA IR in the JAA country of cadet’s choice.

PHASE VI
B737 NG or A320 Operator Conversion Course + 500 Hours Experience as a B737 NG or A320 First Officer
- This phase gives cadets the opportunity to receive line experience during passenger operations in the two most advanced and popular glass cockpit / EFIS jet liners available in the aviation industry and to obtain the amount of hours on type the airlines are looking for worldwide.
- The Operator Conversion Course consisting of Ground School, Ancillary courses, FFS (Full Flight Simulator) Standardization training using Airline’s SOPs and FFS Operator Proficiency Check lasts approximately 4 to 6 weeks and takes place with the airline the cadet will fly on line with.
- Cadets act as a B737-700/800 NG or A319/320/321 first officer during passenger operations for 500 hours of flight. Most flights take place within the European airspace with extensive operations into the largest western European airports. Cadets are based in Europe or nearby countries. The initial 100 hours (possibly more) take place with training captains in preparation for the line check after which cadets fly with both training captains and line captains.
